Where can I find out what I have to do to dispose of the siding on my house?

Question by fixdaback: Where can I find out what I have to do to dispose of the siding on my house?
It is made of some type of slate and I have been told that if it has asbestos in it, I can't remove it. I want to remodel but this is something I have to get resolved first.
