Question by : How long does asbestos remain in the air after sanding asbestos tiles?
About 10 to 12 years ago I decided to "freshen up" my basement laundry room by removing some old tiles and laying new ones. I didn't even think about asbestos at the time. Some were very difficult to remove and I ended up chipping away at them and sanding as well. I didn't wear a mask and can remember looking in a mirror and seeing black "dust" in my nose.
