People are exposed to trace amounts of asbestos to the present. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission banned the use of asbestos in gas fireplaces as well as patch panels supplies since 1970. These products are free to use too much amounts of asbestos in the surroundings. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) also has a ban on all new uses of asbestos found in 1989. However, all uses of asbestos was already established before that date are still legal.
