There are three types of asbestos; blue(crocidolite), brown(amosite) and white(chrysotile).

Blue and brown asbestos are most dangerous and are the two types linked with the condition Asbestosis - if airborne, the asbestos fibres are easily drawn into the lungs, where they may split lengthways and penetrate lung tissue.
